Shell: FPSO off coast of Brazil comes onstream

(CercleFinance.com) - Shell Brasil Petróleo, a subsidiary of Shell, announces that production from the Marechal Duque de Caxias (Mero-3) floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit has begun in the Mero field, offshore Brazil.


The unit, with an operational capacity of 180,000 barrels per day, is 19.3% owned by Shell.

Mero-3 demonstrates our commitment to increasingly efficient and competitive projects, Shell said.

The unit is located 200 kilometres offshore from Rio de Janeiro, at a depth of 2,200 metres.
