ABB: chosen to modernize Lafarge Canada plant
(CercleFinance.com) - Lafarge Canada, a member of the Holcim Group, announces that it has chosen ABB to modernize the process control system at its Bath cement plant in Kingston, Ontario.
ABB will supply its ABB Ability System 800xA to improve visibility and control of operations, supporting Lafarge's commitment to decarbonization.
Producing over one million tonnes of low-carbon OneCem cement per year, the plant is focused on sustainable construction in Canada.
In addition to modernizing its kiln and using low-carbon fuels, Lafarge is testing a carbon capture process there to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
