KKR: $50bn strategic partnership with ECP
(CercleFinance.com) - KKR and Energy Capital Partners (ECP), the largest private owner of power generation and renewable energy facilities in the United States and a preferred partner of Bridgepoint, have announced a $50 billion strategic partnership.
The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of data centers and power generation and distribution infrastructure, meeting the growing needs of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing in the US and around the world.
This strategic partnership combines KKR's deep expertise in digital infrastructure, power and the energy value chain with ECP's leading energy transition platform, specialising in electrification as well as power generation and renewables.
In the US, demand for these centers is expected to nearly triple by 2030, representing an investment of more than $1 trillion, the group says.
This demand cannot be met without adequate infrastructure, which is essential to boost productivity, support electrification and enable countries to strengthen their competitive advantage in AI, KKR said.
