Equinor: strengthens its natural gas portfolio
(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor has signed an agreement with EQT Corporation to acquire an additional non-operated interest in the Northern Marcellus formation in the US, paying $1.
25bn.
The acquisition includes 100% of EQT's remaining working interest in the Northern Marcellus gas units, mainly operated by Expand Energy.
This transaction is expected to increase the cash flow of Equinor's international portfolio by adding volumes of low-carbon natural gas.
Once complete, the acquisition, which covers the same acreage as the previously announced swap with EQT, will increase Equinor's working interest in the Northern Marcellus asset from 25.7% to 40.7%, adding approximately 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to its near-term US production.
