GE Vernova: gas turbine for Singapore power plant
(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova today announced that it has placed an order for a GE Vernova 9HA.
01 gas turbine.
This equipment will be used in a new 600 MW hybrid combined cycle power plant in Pulau Seraya (Singapore), which will be capable of using hydrogen mixed with natural gas. The plant will be operated by YTL PowerSeraya.
The project, led by a consortium comprising GE Vernova, POWERCHINA and SEPCO III, is scheduled to come on stream in 2027.
This 9HA.01 turbine will be able to burn up to 50% blended hydrogen, with the potential to reach 100% in the future, GE Vernova says.
Hydrogen blended with natural gas can catalyze the decarbonization of the power generation sector, it adds.
GE Vernova has also established a repair service center for its turbines in Singapore, strengthening its service capabilities in the region.
