Nexans: innovative plant project in Lens
(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans and Continuus Properzi, a specialist in continuous casting technologies, have announced the conclusion of a major industrial partnership to build an innovative copper production and recycling plant at the Nexans site in Lens, by 2026.
Representing an investment of over E90m for the group, this future plant in Lens will increase its production capacity by more than 50% and will make it possible to recycle up to 80,000 tons of copper per year.
With this project, Nexans explains that it is reaffirming its ability to anticipate the risks of a possible shortage of copper, a metal essential to the sustainable electrification of the world, and consolidating its industrial roots in France.
