Thales: ESA orders six new radar satellites
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space announced on Wednesday that it has signed a E107m contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to supply six additional radar satellites for the Italian Earth observation constellation.
The joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%) states that, under the new contract, it will manufacture a total of 13 satellites for the "Iride" constellation: 12 small satellites equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and one satellite with optical technology.
