Siemens: opens train factory in UK
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Mobility has announced the opening of its train manufacturing plant at its new Goole Rail Village in the UK, following an investment of up to E230m.
The 67-acre plant will assemble new trains for London's Piccadilly line, which will enter service from 2025.
The investment will create up to 700 direct jobs and 1,700 supply chain opportunities by 2030.
Siemens is also announcing a further investment of E50m for a bogie assembly center, creating up to 200 additional jobs by 2026.
