Wendel: EU approves acquisition of Globeducate
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of PN VII Topco (Globeducate), based in Luxembourg, by Wendel, based in France, and Providence Equity Partners (PEP), based in the US.
The transaction mainly concerns the education sector.
The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given the limited market positions of the companies concerned resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger control procedure.
