Colas wins contract from Sprava zeleznic
(CercleFinance.com) - Colas CZ and Colas Rail have won a contract from Sprava zeleznic (Czech Railways) to modernize an 8-kilometer railroad line in northern Bohemia.
The project, worth 77 million euros, will improve the safety and efficiency of transport under the Krusne hory mountains. Modernization of the track will begin in September 2024, with completion scheduled for 2027.
The project includes a complete overhaul of the double track, the installation of new catenaries, modernization of the signalling systems and renovation of six railway bridges.
To enhance passenger comfort, two new accessible platforms will be built, as well as a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists and an underpass.
The renovation of this railroad line will make travel faster and safer, and help boost the region's economy," says Francis Grass, Managing Director EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) of Colas.
