Schneider Electric: AI integrates the connected home
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday, Schneider Electric announced the launch of new functionalities linked to AI within its ecosystem for the connected home, dubbed 'Wiser Home'.
The French group explains that this new application for energy management is primarily aimed at two of the most energy-intensive items in households; water heaters and electric vehicle charging.
This technology, developed in-house, is designed to optimize household energy bills by anticipating their consumption based on past habits.
In addition to user data, this predictive algorithm takes into account weather conditions, changes in electricity tariffs, current contracts and solar capacities.
Because Schneider points out that laboratory tests have shown its AI solution to be even more effective in households equipped with solar panels, with estimated annual savings of between E400 and E500, compared with just E100 to E150 in non-equipped households.
