(CercleFinance.com) - This morning Siemens Mobility announced that it signed a framework agreement in July 2024 with Alpha Trains, a company specialising in the leasing and financing of railway rolling stock in Europe, to supply it with up to 70 Vectron locomotives, with an initial order of 35 units.
These locomotives, including Multi-System and Dual Mode variants, will have a maximum power of 6.4 megawatts and a top speed of 200 km/h. They will complement the existing Alpha Trains fleet and will be manufactured in Munich-Allach, with first delivery scheduled for the end of 2026.
The order also includes the first multi-system locomotives for France, capable of operating on a wide European network. The existing service contract has been extended to include maintenance of this new fleet in Belgium and France.
