Eni: tri-party agreement to reuse used tires
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that Bridgestone EMEA, Grupo BB&G and Versalis (Eni's chemical company) have signed an agreement to create a closed ecosystem aimed at transforming end-of-life tyres into new tyres.
This partnership combines the skills and innovation of the three companies to develop a sustainable and scalable supply chain.
The press release reports that every year, almost a billion tires reach the end of their life cycle.
Thanks to this partnership, used tyres will be converted into tire pyrolysis oil (TPO), enabling the manufacture of elastomers for new tyres.
This collaboration will aim to develop pyrolysis technology, bring TPO to market and extend the use of polymers as a circular resource.
