Nokia: plans to expand its fixed-line R&D center in India
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia announced on Friday that it plans to expand its Chennai research and development (R&D) center dedicated to fixed networks, which will thus become one of its largest laboratories in the world.
The Finnish equipment manufacturer explains that the project, supported by the Tamil Nadu state government, will enable it to support the development of 10G, 25G, 50G and 100G PON technologies.
Its activities will also focus on fixed wireless access, Wi-Fi, MDU equipment for multi-unit residential buildings, as well as access network and network control centers for the home.
This will be Nokia's largest R&D center dedicated to fixed technologies.
