KKR: acquires Varsity Brands
(CercleFinance.com) - KKR announces the acquisition of Varsity Brands, a leader in team sports, athletics and school spirit, from Bain Capital and Charlesbank.
As the new majority owner, KKR will support Varsity Brands in its continued growth, and plans to implement an employee share ownership program to strengthen employee engagement.
Varsity Brands offers a wide range of customized solutions for sports and school programs, reaching more than eight million athletes and students each year, and collaborates with major sports brands such as Nike, adidas and Under Armour.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
