
Ericsson: welcomes closer cooperation between US and Sweden
(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson has welcomed the joint declaration by the US and Swedish governments to strengthen cooperation in advanced wireless technologies, including 6G.
The declaration, signed on 6 August 2024, is the latest bilateral agreement between both countries to pool resources, expertise and technological leadership in areas of future connectivity.
Areas of cooperation include 6G research, spectrum allocation, global harmonization of frequency bands, development of technologies compliant with international standards, and bridging the digital divide.
In April 2024, the US and Sweden also signed a five-year innovation research partnership covering AI, 6G, machine learning and quantum technology.
