Walt Disney: Chairman appointed to succession planning committee
(CercleFinance.com) - Walt Disney announces that its Board of Directors has appointed member James Gorman as Chairman of its Succession Planning Committee, which will, amongst other things, seek a successor to Robert Iger as CEO.
The media and entertainment group points out that James Gorman oversaw the recent succession process at Morgan Stanley, where he is Executive Chairman until next December, after having been CEO for many years.
In addition to James Gorman and Chairman Mark Parker, Mary Barra and Calvin McDonald will continue to sit on the committee, all of whose members thus have direct experience of executive succession at Fortune 500 companies.
