Nvidia: HSBC raises target price

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday, HSBC raised its target price for Nvidia shares from E135 to E145, a week ahead of the release of its quarterly results, while maintaining its buy recommendation on the stock.

In a research note, the broker supports its target increase by revising upwards its 2024/2025 forecasts, highlighting the success of the H200 and H20 graphics processors dedicated to generative AI and high-performance computing.

In general, HSBC expects the current strong demand for graphics processing units (GPUs) to continue, while anticipating a "limited" impact from any delays in product launches.

However, its estimates for the 2025/2026 financial year remain unchanged, with the broker anticipating less pricing power on the part of the chipmaker.

Its new price target reflects 14% upside potential. NB: cp: $128.5, +1%.
