Voltalia: production curtailed in Brazil
(CercleFinance.com) - Voltalia announces that the Brazilian transmission network operator is currently imposing a pronounced curtailment in certain parts of the network.
This capping would have a significant impact on Voltalia's 2024 EBITDA if it were to continue over the coming months, and if it were not financially compensated.
The company has indicated that it is taking a series of actions to reduce the duration of this load shedding and ensure that it is financially compensated.
Note that, for a transmission network operator load shedding consists, by limiting the transmission, for a given period, of all or part of a power plant's electrical production potential, in order to maintain the stability of the transmission network.
Voltalia's production in the northeastern part of the network could be capped at a high level for a period that could last several months, notably due to delays in the construction of new transmission lines to reinforce the network in the northeast of the country.
