Nokia: contract for 25G PON solution in Taiwan
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has announced that Homeplus will deploy its 25G PON fiber optic solution to deliver some of the fastest broadband speeds in Taiwan, making Homeplus the first provider on the island to deliver services based on this solution.
With Internet speeds 125 times faster than the national average (200 Mb/s), the 25G PON commercial deployment will enable Homeplus to offer new and enhanced residential and business services, the Finnish network equipment supplier says.
According to Nokia, Homeplus will thus be able to offer its customers the next generation of gigabit services essential for cloud computing, 8K video streaming, online gaming, virtual reality and Internet of Things applications.
