
BAE Systems: opens training centre in Glasgow
(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announces that a £12m training centre, the Applied Shipbuilding Academy, has opened in Glasgow at the Scotstoun shipyard.
The 5,500 m² facility is designed to train the entire workforce, from new recruits to managers, and support the skills development of 4,500 employees.
The building will include a Modern Trades Hall for hands-on training and a Flexible Learning Hub with classrooms and a STEM lab.
This investment is aimed at strengthening skills in the Scottish shipbuilding industry for the future, BAE Systems says.
