HPE: acquires Morpheus Data in hybrid cloud
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced that it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire Morpheus Data, a specialist in enterprise software for managing hybrid cloud platforms.
In a press release, HPE explains that the acquisition of Morpheus will enable it to simplify the complexity of hybrid technology operations as part of its GreenLake cloud offering.
The US group says this aims to enable cloud applications to be unified on a single infrastructure, in order to help companies cope with increasingly heterogeneous and difficult-to-manage environments.
HPE points out that the operation follows on from last year's successful acquisition of OpsRamp.
The acquisition, the terms of which was not disclosed, is expected to be completed in Q4.
HPE shares closed up 5.5% in New York on Thursday.
