Boeing: El Al orders 31 737 MAX aircraft
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announces El Al Israel Airlinesr' order of up to 31 737 MAX aircraft, supporting the Israeli airline's plans to modernize and expand its single-aisle fleet.
In particular, the 737 MAX will reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared with the aircraft it replaces, and will have a 50% smaller noise footprint, Boeing says.
This aircraft order, the largest in El Al's 76-year history, follows the purchase earlier this year of three additional 787-9 aircraft, with options for a further six. The carrier will take delivery of a 787-9 this year.
