Rolls-Royce: to supply 5 'MBHS' systems to BAE Systems
(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce announces that it has been chosen to supply five Mission Bay Handling Systems (MBHS) for the British Royal Navy's second series of City Type 26 class frigates.
Rolls-Royce says the systems are designed to offer adaptable and flexible performance throughout the life of a ship.
The contract, signed with BAE Systems Surface Ships Limited (wholly owned by BAE Systems), calls for the manufacture of five MBHSs at Rolls-Royce's Naval Handling Centre of Excellence in Peterborough, Ontario.
This new contract brings the total to eight MBHSs for the Type 26 program. The project will increase the workforce at the Peterborough plant by 10% and create a number of highly skilled jobs.
