
ING: strong acceleration of weekly share buybacks
(CercleFinance.com) - ING announces that, as part of its E2.
5bn share buyback program announced on 2 May, it bought back almost 16.8 million shares last week, at an average price of E15.01, for a total outlay of E251.6m.
These figures mark a sharp acceleration in share buy-backs, since in the previous week, the Dutch bank had acquired only 3.25 million of its own shares at an average price of E16.55, representing a total outlay of almost E53.8m.
The total number of shares bought back by ING under its program thus stands at over 95.1 million to date, for a total of almost E1.52bn, or around 60.9% of the program's maximum total value.
