Engie: raises annual targets

(CercleFinance.com) - In light of the solid financial performance recorded in H1 2024, against a backdrop of a return to normal market conditions, Engie has announced an upward revision of its full-year targets.

In 2024, the energy group is now targeting recurring net income (group share) of E5bn to E5.6bn (instead of E4.2bn to E4.8bn) and EBIT excluding nuclear power of between E8.2bn and E9.2bn (compared with E7.5bn to E8.5bn previously expected).

For H1 2024, Engie posted recurring net profit (group share) of E3.8bn and EBIT excluding nuclear of E5.6bn, down organically by 5.9% and 16.3% respectively, with a "particularly high" comparison basis.

At E37.5bn, sales were down by 20.4% on an organic basis, although the group claims to have added more than 1 GW of additional capacity in its renewable activities during the half-year and to have 6.9 GW under construction at the end of June.
