Wolters Kluwer: profit-taking, H1 in line
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Wolters Kluwer reported H1 results that were merely in line with market expectations, prompting the share price of the Dutch publisher to undergo some profit-taking on the stockmarket.
The group - which publishes professional information in the legal, tax and scientific fields - posted H1 operating income that is up 8%, both on a reported and organic basis, to E765m.
Sales came to E2.9bn, up 6%, with an improved margin of 26.5%, compared with 26.1% a year earlier.
Wolters Kluwer maintained its forecast of a margin of between 26.4% and 26.8%, but this did not prevent the stock from falling 3% on Wednesday on the Amsterdam stock exchange, while at the same time the AEX index advanced by 1.5%.
YTD, the share is up almost 17%, having outperformed the European media index (+13%).
