Veolia: sells non-strategic assets in US

(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia announced on Wednesday the sale of its sulfuric acid regeneration activities in North America to the investment fund American Industrial Partners for $620m.

The environmental services group explains that the transaction is part of its transformation policy aimed at refocusing its asset portfolio on its strategic priorities.

In its opinion, the sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid regeneration businesses for refineries in the US are not part of these priorities and do not offer synergies with its core activities.

On the Paris stock exchange, Veolia shares were up 1% on Wednesday morning following this announcement, pretty much in line with the CAC 40 index.
