Amazon: UBS raises its price target
(CercleFinance.com) - UBS announced on Tuesday that it had raised its price target for Amazon from $217 to $224, ahead of the US online retail giant's second-quarter results presentation, scheduled for August 1.
The analyst - who maintains his Buy recommendation on the stock - points out that investors have tended to focus on the Seattle-based group's profit margins over the past two years.
According to the intermediary, now is the time to adopt a new angle of attack on the dossier, more focused on the need to pursue a more offensive policy and launch new investment projects.
From its point of view, the $1.8 billion per annum contract signed with the NBA is a step in the right direction, but UBS is also calling for increased investment spending in the AWS cloud business, as well as in power and Internet access (Kuiper project).
While it does not expect Amazon to unveil precise figures at the time of publication, the research firm hopes that the company will pay close attention to these issues.
