BASF: net profit down 14% in Q2

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF has announced a 6.
9% decline in Q2 sales to E16.1bn. The company says that lower prices in all segments - particularly in surface technologies - were the main driving force behind this trend. NB: cp -2.8%.

The group reports an 18% drop in EBITDA to E1.56bn, while EBIT plunged 47% to E516m.

Net income came to E430m, down 14%, giving EPS of E0.48 (-14%).

Adjusted EPS came to E0.93, up 28.2%.

Against this background, BASF group's published guidance for FY 2024 also remains unchanged. The group is targeting EBITDA before exceptional items of E8bn to E8.6bn, and free cash flow of E0.1bn to E0.6bn.
