Boeing: presents aviation market outlook

(CercleFinance.com) - Ahead of the Farnborough International Airshow, Boeing has released its Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) for 2024, which also predicts that emerging markets and global single-aisle market demand will remain the industry's key growth drivers.

With air travel fully recovered - and even exceeding - pre-pandemic demand, Boeing forecasts a 3% increase in aircraft deliveries over the next 20 years, requiring nearly 44,000 new commercial aircraft by 2043.
Compared to 2023, air passenger traffic will grow by an average of 4.7% p.a. over the next two decades, according to the CMO.

The group estimates that the global passenger and cargo fleet will almost double over the next 20 years. Single-aisle aircraft will account for 76% of commercial deliveries.

It says around half of deliveries will replace older aircraft with more fuel-efficient models, improving sustainability.

The return to traffic growth shows how resilient our industry is, even as we all work through ongoing supply chain and production constraints amid other global challenges, Boeing said.
