Vivendi: to remain in Paris after proposed demerger
(CercleFinance.com) - In its update on the planned demerger of Canal+, Havas and Louis Hachette Group, Vivendi states that it would remain a major player in the creative and entertainment industries listed on the Euronext Paris regulated market.
The group would continue to develop and transform Gameloft, while actively managing a portfolio of investments, including UMG, and being able to initiate new investments in related businesses.
Should this project go ahead at the end of the information and consultation procedure, a decision could be taken at the end of October with a view to submitting it to an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders, which could be held in December.
This transaction will only take place if it is approved by two-thirds of shareholders at this meeting. To date, no regulatory approvals have been identified as being required for this project to go ahead.
