Valneva: extends partnership with CEPI for Ixchiq
(CercleFinance.com) - Valneva announces the expansion of its partnership with the Coalition for Innovations in Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI) to increase the accessibility of the world's first chikungunya vaccine Ixchiq in low- and middle-income countries.
As part of the partnership, the vaccine company will receive up to $41.3m from CEPI and the European Union, funding that will support clinical trials in vulnerable populations such as children and pregnant women.
Valneva adds that the partnership also aims to support a technology transfer to another vaccine manufacturer to make its Ixchiq available to low- and middle-income countries in Asia.
