Alstom: inaugurates HATEE joint venture in China
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that it has inaugurated a new joint venture, Hefei Alstom Rail Transport Equipment (HATEE), in Hefei (China).
HATEE, the first local traction systems manufacturing base in Hefei, will play a key role in Hefei's rail transport industry, aiming to penetrate both domestic and international markets.
The plant, to be implemented in three phases over 8 to 10 years, will produce up to 1,500 traction systems a year.
The systems are specially designed for China's standardized metro vehicles, using Alstom's OPTonix technology.
In particular, HATEE will support Hefei Metro Line 8, the city's first fully automated line.
