bpost: sanctioned for lowering annual targets
(CercleFinance.com) - bpost is down 7% in Brussels this morning, after the group announced that it expects adjusted EBIT of between E165m and E185m in 2024, before the impact of the consolidation of Staci, and a single-digit percentage fall in operating income (bottom of the range).
The Belgian postal operator explains that these new targets follow on from the agreements reached with press publishers, but also reflect the continuing unfavourable market conditions in North America.
The group's EBIT will also include a fall in EBIT in the Corporate segment, reflecting the discontinuation of the building sales programme and an increase in operating expenses linked to strategic initiatives and compliance.
