Boeing: delivers 1st Chinook Block II to US Army
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announced today that it has delivered the first CH-47F Block II Chinook to the US Army, as part of the Army's modernization efforts to upgrade up to 465 aircraft.
The CH-47F Block II improves lifting capacity, flight range and serviceability thanks to an improved transmission, a reinforced airframe and an optimized fuel system, enabling a 4,000-pound increase in maximum gross weight, Boeing says.
The Block II program also improves operational readiness, reducing unscheduled maintenance and associated costs.
