
Siemens: completes acquisition of Optrail in Italy
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Mobility has completed the acquisition of Optrail, an Italy-based technology company that provides unique algorithms for traffic management systems - TMS - based on mathematical optimisation and operational research methods.
The acquisition rounds out Siemens Mobility's existing portfolio of Train Planning Systems (TPS) and strengthens its position as a leading provider of software solutions for rail customers.
Optrail will remain based in Rome, Italy, and its technology will be integrated with Hacon's existing TPS products. Hacon, a Siemens company, is based in Hannover, Germany, and is a key part of Siemens Mobility's software business unit.
