Boeing: upgrades USAF B-52s
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing has announced that it has received the first B-52s from the Air Force to begin upgrades as part of the Radar Modernization Program (RMP).
The RMP program will give the B-52 "fighter-like" radar capabilities, increasing navigation, targeting and tracking accuracy and providing new high-resolution mapping. The new radar will also be able to engage multiple targets simultaneously.
Work on the B-52 upgrade is taking place at Boeing's Oklahoma City and San Antonio sites.
