BASF: reinforces R&D with more powerful supercomputer
(CercleFinance.com) - BASF has started up a new supercomputer, manufactured by Hewlett Packard Enterprise, at its Ludwigshafen site to replace the existing one.
With 3 petaflops of computing power, the new supercomputer is considerably more powerful than its 1.75 petaflops predecessor.
Digital technologies are among the most important tools for expanding our R&D capabilities, BASF's CTO said, adding that these days, above-average computing power is needed to develop the most promising polymer structures from thousands of possibilities.
