Mercedes-Benz: new wind farm in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz yesterday announced that it has selected German energy park developer UKA to install a new onshore wind farm of more than 120 MW at its Papenburg test track in northern Germany.
UKA has been awarded a long-term contract worth hundreds of millions of euros to build about 20 wind turbines by the middle of the decade.
The wind farm will be operational at the site under a power purchase agreement (PPA) sufficient to cover about 20% of the group's annual electricity needs in Germany.
The installation of photovoltaic systems on the test track is also under consideration.
