Holcim: acquires Besblock in UK
(CercleFinance.com) - Holcim today announced the acquisition of Besblock, reported to be a leading supplier of precast materials to the UK Midlands construction industry, with two manufacturing plants in Telford.
Its technology platform is dedicated to the production of sustainable building blocks, with a capacity of around 2.5m m2 per year. It has a new 1.6 megawatt biomass boiler and renewable energy system.
Its products include the "Star Performer", a sustainable and versatile on-site solution that uses recycled aggregates and 24% less material than a solid block, Holcim said.
