ArcelorMittal: contract to supply sustainable steel to BP2
(CercleFinance.com) - ArcelorMittal announced at the weekend that it has partnered with BP2, a manufacturer of residential building solutions, to supply low carbon steel for BP2's "SOLROOF" photovoltaic roofing system.
As a result, BP2's FIT VOLT integrated photovoltaic panels (components of the SOLROOF system) will be manufactured using only XCarb recycled and renewable steel, which is produced from a minimum of 75% scrap metal and 100% renewable electricity.
XCarb recycled and renewable steel and other materials used in the SOLROOF system not only have a lower environmental impact, but are also fully recyclable, giving a second life to subsequent products, ArcelorMittal said.
