(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies and its partners today announced that they have signed the production sharing contracts for Blocks 6 and 8 with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname (Staatsolie), the national oil company of Suriname.
Blocks 6 and 8 were awarded to TotalEnergies as part of the 2020/2021 conventional offshore tender. TotalEnergies will operate both blocks with a 40% interest, alongside QatarEnergy (20%) and Paradise Oil Company (POC) (40%), a subsidiary of Staatsolie.
Located in the southern part of Suriname's offshore area near the border with Guyana, in depths of between 30 and 50 metres, Blocks 6 and 8 are adjacent to Block 58 where several discoveries have been made and appraisal drilling is underway.
