Alstom: back to black in 2022-23

(CercleFinance.com) - Transport equipment manufacturer Alstom has reported adjusted net profit of E292m financial year, compared with a loss of E173m a year ago, with an adjusted operating margin that has inched up 0.
2 point to 5.2%.

Revenue grew by 7% (+5% organic) to E16.5bn, while orders received showed parallel real and organic growth to E20.7bn, bringing the backlog at end-March to E87.4bn.

The board of directors has decided to propose a dividend distribution of E0.25 per share at the next general meeting on 11 July, which repesents a payout ratio of 33% of adjusted net profit.

Alstom warns that it will achieve its medium-term adjusted operating margin and free cash flow targets in 2025-26, one year later than initially planned, mainly due to the new macroeconomic environment, and notably inflation.
