Walgreens Boots: appoints new CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Walgreens Boots Alliance has announced the appointment of Rosalind Brewer as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective as of 15 March.
She will also join the drugstore chain's board of directors. She will succeed Stefano Pessina who, as previously announced, will become Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, after serving as CEO for six years following the merger between Walgreens and Alliance Boots in December 2014. Most recently, Rosalind Brewer was COO and a member of the Starbucks coffee chain's Board of Directors, where she helped accelerate its growth strategy and expand its global presence.
