Walmart: to hire over 50,000 staff

(CercleFinance.com) - Retail giant Walmart said it will create more than 50,000 jobs in the United States, from checkout to warehouse work, as it continues to see strong demand in its stores.


The supermarket group - which has already committed to hiring over 150,000 new employees by the end of May - said it plans to hire additional cashiers, stockers and personal shoppers.

In distribution centers and fulfillment centers, the company will hire additional fillers and pickers, while adding more drivers to its fleet.

Walmart - which is currently hiring at an average pace of 5,000 people per day - said that from today it will require employees to wear masks or other face coverings at work.
