Travelers: net earnings of 617 million euros in Q1.
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday US insurer Travelers reported Q1 earnings of 617 million dollars, down 11% y-o-y, due to losses from certain catastrophes (226 million dollars after tax).
The combined ratio, including catastrophe losses, reached 96.0% over the quarter, against 92.3% in Q1 2016, the group said in a statement.
Net premiums issued rose by 5% over last year, reaching a record level of 6.495 billion dollars, reflecting growth in all segments, the group said.
