3M: acquisition of Scott Safety now complete.

(CercleFinance.com) - 3M has completed the acquisition of Scott Safety from Johnson Controls for a total enterprise value of about two billion dollars, the US diversified manufacturer said on Thursday.


Scott Safety's breathing apparatus and gas and flame detection instruments help protect firefighters, military, and rescue teams from environmental hazards.

Its devices will complement 3M's personal safety portfolio, the group said.

3M, which makes Post-It notes and Scotch tapes, also announced today the opening of a new design center in Japan.
