Qualcomm: extends offer for NXP Semiconductors.

(CercleFinance.com) - US wireless chipmaker Qualcomm has extended the tender period for its offer for Netherlands-based chipmaker NXP Semiconductors until 28 June.


As of 30 May, approximately 47.7 million NXP common shares, i.e. approximately 14.1% of outstanding common shares, have been validly tendered.

Qualcomm - which has already filed merger control documents relating to the transaction in South Korea, Mexico, Taiwan and Japan - states that completion of the tender offer remains subject to holding at least 80% of NXP's outstanding shares.

At this stage, the transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
