Pfizer: positive results for children's vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - Pfizer on Monday unveiled positive preliminary results from a proof-of-concept study on a candidate vaccine for children.


In the phase 2 trial, initial three doses of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine provided evidence that it has an overall safety profile that is similar to Prevnar 13, another Pfizer vaccine, for the prevention of invasive disease and otitis caused by streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes.

These "encouraging" findings should support the program's advancement to Phase 3, Pfizer said.
